For those looking to get their white water fix in Friday, we are still hosting the Paddle with the Pros at the Clear Creek Whitewater Park in Golden. This event will be hosted before Friday’s main attraction, the Sunset Paddle Classic at Soda Lakes.
Whether you kayak or SUP – come on out to paddle with our regional pros to learn a few tricks! No cost, but we ask that you register!
Our friends from Boardworks & Badfish SUP, Confluence Kayaks, Colorado SUP Sports, Altitude Paddleboards, Rocky Mountain Paddleboard, Colorado Kayak Supply and more will be on hand with demo fleets for you to try. Whether you wish to try out SUP’s, Kayaks, Rec Boats or various fishing platforms we’ll have the craft for you! There will be a one-time demo fee of $5 that will allow you turns to test the crafts of your choice.

Slack lining is gaining huge popularity and thus increasing participation. We’ll have experts on hand showcasing their skills on a line and several lines setup for everyone to try this exciting sport out. So, make sure to come on out and join us for this fun, unique and popular opportunity!

Golden’s own, Lindsay Gonzalez, will be leading the SUP Yoga class. This is a great entry level class at $15 with beginner poses to allow you to try out the dynamic yoga class in a friendly environment. All equipment will be provided, just come ready to have fun!

The Sunset SUP Race will be the main event of the evening for the Sunset Paddle Classic. From local pros to 1st timers, the race course will be fun with just enough challenge to keep it entertaining. There will be a 14′, 12’6″ & Open Class with equal prizes for Men and Women.
The racers will be called on to the water at 615 pm, with a mass start of all classes at 630pm. Immediately following the race will be the awards ceremony and Luau.
14′ & 12’6″ Class Course Length: Approx 3 miles
*$100 Cash Prize for Men & Women’s 1st place in 12’6″ Division!
Open Class Course Length: Approx 1 mile
Join us after the Sunset SUP Race for our Rocky Mountain Luau! Music will be playing while we BBQ, play games, host the awards ceremony and wind down for the evening.
